This morning the weather is glorious, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and all is generally well with the world. Hoping to have a rather productive day today, have some crochet hook cases and needle cases to get lined, and then they can be added to the Folksy shop (

I have already done my photo-a-day challenge, today's title is 'Something beginning with F' so here is my offering...
Forget-me-nots, my favourite flower, we are lucky enough to have the blues and purples in our garden and they create a spring carpet along the borders, just lovely xx

Folklore and legend (info from Wikipedia)

Henry IV adopted the flower as his symbol during his exile in 1398, and retained the symbol upon his return to England the following year.

In a German legend, God named all the plants when a tiny unnamed one cried out, "Forget-me-not, O Lord!" God replied, "That shall be your name."

In 15th-century Germany, it was supposed that the wearers of the flower would not be forgotten by their lovers. Legend has it that in medieval times, a knight and his lady were walking along the side of a river. He picked a posy of flowers, but because of the weight of his armour he fell into the river. As he was drowning he threw the posy to his loved one and shouted "Forget-me-not." It was often worn by ladies as a sign of faithfulness and enduring love.

Photo a day challenge, May 5th and 6th...

For 5th May, the title was 'Paper'
I struggled a little with this one, whilst my house is full of paper in one form or another, trying to think outside of the box caused some problems! Anyway, I settled on this one...
In this picture, too many schools vouchers = too much money spent in Sainsburys!

And for the 6th May the title is 'Broken' again, I wanted to do something a little different, and then whilst waiting for the BBQ to warm up this happened...
Whilst the trampoline survived, it was never guaranteed! So, I have used some poetic license and have added the caption "Daddy, don't break my trampoline!"

Day 2 of photo-a-day challenge, but first some exciting news!

Who has seen this months copy of Yarnwise magazine?

Just take a look at this...
Do you recognise 'Star Knit'? Its ME in my rather lovely 'Tulip Cardigan', I'm sooo proud!

Anyway, to the matter in hand today, my second photo in the May photo-a-day challenge and today's subject was 'Morning Ritual',

Explanation: Every Thursday, after dropping off Mini-Me at nursery and before going to Sherborne Tapestry Centre to teach crochet, I stop off in Costa Coffee for a treat, this morning it was a Mocha Coffee Cooler and a flick through Yarnwise magazine. And it was lovely x

Happy May Everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunny weather!

As part of one the groups on Facebook that I am a member of I have joined a photographic challenge for May.

Everyday I will be posting a new photo based on this list...

I've never tried anything like this before, so I am excited by the prospect of using my creativity in a different way.

So here is my offering for day one

May 1st 2013

'I bought this'

Bought from a charity box in our local supermarket for 50p. I've seen the film many years ago, and with the sun shining outside and a little romanticism in my heart, I decided to give the book ago.
